PLOCAN
Presentation
PLOCAN Test Site is located off the Northeast coast of Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain) and it has been hosting several activities since 2013. It provides unique testing capacities to the scientific, institutional and business community to support activities down to the deep ocean, with sufficient environmental guarantees and within a known and stable regulatory framework.
Field Facilities
- A publicly-owned marine area of 23 km2 for testing, with depths ranging from the coast down to 600m depth
- Two subsea hybrid cables of 5MW each
- One further cable of 5 MW to be installed at short term
Services
They include the hosting through deployment of technology moored within the test site marine area, either with or without connection to cabling.
